Farmers Only: The Pete Rosales hitting streak watch begins

Adam Rosales was the lone bright spot in a pretty dismal day for Cincinnati minor league teams.  Carolina's 3-run 9th prevented an organizational sweep, and Dayton set a club record, and not in a good way.

• Louisville got blown out in a day game, 14-4.  Daryl Thompson started for the Bats for the first time after coming off the DL, and was downright terrible, giving up 7 runs in 4.  Ben Jukich pitched 2 2/3 innings in relief for some reason, and gave up 5 runs of his own.  Luckily, there was some hitting, with Adam Rosales going 4-for-5 to extend his hitting streak to 6 games.  He's batting .409, Walt!  He can't continue that streak in Cincinnati?  Luis Bolivar also went 3-for-5 with a double, and Jonny Gomes and Wes Bankston had two hits each, with Bankston hitting his 3rd HR of the year (off of Saarlooser, too!).  Luckily, a few of the Bats' bats are waking up, with Chris Valaika going 2-for-4 to bring his average up to .159.  Progress.  Up next: Bats start a new series in Toledo, 6:30 PM start.
• Carolina won in comeback fashion, scoring 3 runs in the 9th to win 7-6.  Jordan Smith got the start for the Mudcats, and was taken deep by former Reds farmhand Drew T. Anderson, who had 3 hits against his former organization.  Zach Cozart went 3-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI, and Chris Heisey had two hits, including a triple that led off the 9th inning rally.  Todd Frazier and Logan Parker also had two hits and two RBI, and Juan Francisco scored on a wild pitch to score the winning run.  Up next: Carolina takes on Huntsville again, starting at 7:15.

Cozart
• Sarasota lost to Charlotte, 7-4.  Zach Stewart started the game, giving up 4 runs (only one earned) in 5, striking out 4.  Alex Buchholz got back on track, going 3-for-5 with a double, triple, and RBI, and Yonder Alonso hit his 3rd bomb of the year.  Up next: Jeremy Horst takes the hill against Charlotte, a 7:05 start.
• Dayton's losing streak increased to 10, as they lost to Great Lakes 4-3.  Cody Puckett went 2-for-4 with a solo HR, and Brandon Menchaca had two hits of his own.  Josh Ravin started the game, giving up 2 runs in 5 innings, but the offense once again couldn't get anything going.  Up next: Curt Partch takes the hill against Great Lakes, starting at 7.
