Summer Gateway Celebration takes place this weekend

322838-summer-gateway-celebration-takes-place-this-weekend In an effort to "create a Cincinnati festival as unique and progressivea its home neighborhood," the OTR Gateway Merchant Group has organizedthe first of what will hopefully become an annual celebration.

The OTR/Gateway Summer Celebrationwill take place this Saturday, June 20 and go from 10am to 7pm.  Theevent will take place in the heart of the Gateway Quarter at 12th andVine streets in historic Over-the-Rhine.

The day's activities will start with the annual Go OTR 5kat 10am.  The 5k is a celebration of the exciting changes that aretaking place throughout Over-the-Rhine.  The 3.1 mile course begins at12th and Vine streets and winds throughout the historic neighborhood.

Moneyraised from the 5k goes to support the Over-the-Rhine Chamber ofCommerce. Pre-registration is $12 and $20 day of the race. Participants can pre-register until noon on Friday, June 19.

Everyonewho participates in the Go OTR 5k will receive a t-shirt and be treatedto an after-party sponsored by Christian Moerlein where the customRookwood Pottery designed awards will be given out.

Throughoutthe rest of the day event-goers will be treated to live music from aslew of bands, arts and crafts from dozens of local merchants, foodfrom nearby establishments and beer from Christian Moerlein.

Thoseenjoying the festivities will also be able to see first-hand, thetransformations taking place throughout Over-the-Rhine.  The GatewayQuarter businesses and residential sales office will be open so thatthose new to the neighborhood can learn a little more about thecommunity.
