Nati Disc Golf debuts Pro Shop at Mt. Airy Forest course

Airy location.  The opening willfeature a variety of activities including 9-hole mini disc golf, foodand prizes.  There will also be long drive, closest to the pin andother contests for disc golf enthusiasts.

The Nati Disc Golfbusiness was started in 2007 by Fred Salaz and strives to "serve discgolfers everywhere while highlighting and catering to the local discgolf scene here in the greater Cincinnati area."

Thebusiness also states that they are able to provide disc golf products,events and tips that will help improve the game of any disc golfer outthere.  The online store currently offers these products, but the newpro shop at Mt. Airy will offer a physical location and improvedservice to the many disc golfers in the Cincinnati region.

Thenew pro shop will be open from 11am to 7pm Monday through Friday, and11am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.  In addition, operators say thatthey will be offering free lessons during their weekend hours.

Thesport of disc golf actually started in the late 1960s and has grown atan annual rate of 12 to 15 percent for the past decade.  There are nowclose to 3,000 disc golf courses nationwide with many more across theworld in the more than 40 countries that enjoy the sport.

In the Cincinnati region there are roughly 26 courseswith eight of them being installed within the past five years, onceagain signaling the strength and popularity of the sport.  The Mt. Airy Forest course, where the pro shop will be located, boasts 18 holes of competitive disc golf.

Inaddition to the new pro shop and disc golf offerings, The Nati DiscGolf organizes a variety of events each year including the "Deuce or Die" event being held at Monroe Community Park on Saturday, August 1 bright and early at 8am.
